Generally,
- Upon termination of membership on the site, all personal information and submitted content will be deleted without exception.
- First, the data is deleted, then the member, ensuring that no data remains through "automatic deletion."
- Member deletion is not automatic; deletion is always performed manually to ensure that no personal information and/or content submitted by the member during their membership remains.
- Membership termination occurs due to long-term "uncommented" absence, gross misconduct, or at the request of the respective member.
# Long-term "uncommented" absence - What does that mean?
- "Long-term" in this context refers to a period of at least 6 months without any comment.
# Gross misconduct - What does that mean?
- Anything that is typically considered a violation of etiquette and rules of interaction is considered "gross misconduct." Added to this is the aspect of poaching members.
(more information can be found in the site's rules for members)
# Request of the relevant member - what should be done?
- Deletion of a member "upon request" would actually be technically possible automatically via a corresponding function in the user profile.
- Experience has shown that this leads to complications if the member in question deletes themselves while attempting to "test the function."
- With this problem of "accidental deletion" in mind, we have disabled the function in the profile, so that a member's request for deletion is only possible via the member's corresponding declaration via the usual communication channels (e.g., "email" or the more popular "private message" or even as a "forum post").
- Deletion requests are expressly processed by the site founder; there is no authorization for the team, such as the site's administrator. "Area moderators" or "administrators" to process these deletion requests.
